Welcome to Hyatt Elementary! I am honored and humbled to be the principal of this school, as this is my first year to serve the Hyatt community. If you are new to the Hyatt family, you will find that we have a very special school. Hyatt is a close-knit, educational community that promotes the academic and social development of all students in a safe, friendly environment. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential.
Our student recognition program, “Hyatt Heroes” provides an opportunity for all students to be leaders. This program encompasses our Three Bee Rules which are: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. The Hyatt Heroes school-wide system emphasizes a proactive approach for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors within a positive school environment. Positive behavior supports are used across all areas both in the classroom and in non-classroom settings (such as hallways, cafeteria buses, and restrooms) and includes a system to respond to students not being successful.
Our dedicated staff here at Hyatt Elementary serves approximately 416 students in grades K-3. In addition to the core curriculum, our school offers math and reading support (including Reading Recovery and Math Recovery), social emotional programs, speech and language support, instructional support services, as well as specials programs: art, music, and physical education. Hyatt students engage in learning through technology in the computer lab as well as the classroom. Students go to our beautiful library weekly to hear stories read aloud and check out books. Our compassionate staff is here to support our students, by any means necessary, to ensure all students reach their fullest academic potential.
Parents/guardians are always welcome at our school. We view our parents/guardians as equal partners in providing our children with meaningful educational experiences. We encourage you to become active participants in school programs and classroom activities. There are many ways to support your child, such as volunteering to help in the classroom, volunteering for the Parents Active in Linden Schools (PALS) or attending one of our many school programs. Just as important as volunteering is a nightly routine of reading to your child, talking about their day, helping them with homework and preparing them for the next day of school.
I feel privileged to be part of such an outstanding school family! We invite you to join our community as we work together to best serve our students. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have a suggestion, concern, or just a "good story" to share. Please contact me at 810-591-8182 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Welcome to all of you, and thank you for being a part of the Linden Community Schools.
